EU Student Advice
We are pleased to announce that students and staff from the EU and beyond are welcome in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´.
How does the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ leaving the European Union affect students from the EU?
The rules regarding immigration and tuition fee have been effected since the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ has left the European Union on 31 January 2020. These changes don't apply to Irish students.
Students from the EU, EEA-EFTA states or Switzerland who want to study in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ should get updated information before submitting their application.
If you arrive in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ before 31 December 2020, you won't face many changes as long as you register for the EU Settlement Scheme.
EU citizens and their family who start living in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ by 31 December 2020 can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme and continue living in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ after 30 June 2021. If you arrive from 1 January 2021 onwards, you will probably face some changes. However, many of these changes are still in the negotiation phase. Rest assured that the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ government, the British Council, and ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ universities are trying their best to make this process as simple as possible. The main changes are as follows:

University Fees for EU Students
At the moment, EU students who study at a ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ further education institution or a university have ‘home fee status’ in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´. This means that EU students pay the same tuition fees as the students whose university is located in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales. If you are an undergraduate student in Scotland, your tuition fees are paid by Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). As for the EU students studying in the rest of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ as an undergraduate, they can apply for a student loan. You can contact us for more details. If you are an EU citizen, or from the EEA-EFTA States or Switzerland and have already begun your course in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´, your existing status is guaranteed for the length of your studies even if you finish your course after 31 December 2020.
If you are a student from the EU, EEA-EFTA or Switzerland and you're about to start your new course in England, Scotland, or Wales after August 2021, you won't be able to receive student loans. (Northern Ireland will announce arrangements in due course). However, there are other types of financial support for students.
